Surprise Lake

Hello everyone.  I just returned from Surprise Lake and wanted to show off two of the pictures below.  The rest are in a new album on the photos server.

Full Photo Library

I have acquired a Windows Home Server, a new product from Microsoft that is designed to make home based hosting and sharing easier.  Using this tool, I have been able to setup an easier to use photo library.  New photos get posted overnight after they are copied off of my camera.  Since it is automated, it makes it a lot easier on me.  Unfortunately, it does not have all of the features of the Gallery program, but convenience is valuable to me right now…  Included are photos from our recent hikes on Oyster Dome, Rattlesnake Ridge, Little Si, Mt Dickerman (along the Mountain Loop Highway), and Mt David.  Note that these libraries consist of all of the photos I took, so, there are a lot of photos.  I will be deleting the inferior photos when I get chance.  In the meantime, enjoy.

Oil Refining Capacity

I found this article on FactCheck and wanted to save it.  It is an interesting article and touches on the costs of building refining capacity in the US.

Does the U.S. lack sufficient oil refining capabilities?

Hurricane Ridge Snowshoe Trip

I just completed a hike with the BWM group up to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympics.  I’ve posted about it on their site.  Actually, it is what will eventually be a lot like their site.  We are still in the early development phases.  However, there are pictures there. :)

We are back from the BWM Retreat

The retreat went well and everyone had a great time.  We were quite surprised by the early snow.  They reported 20″ at Baker by Oct 2nd.  Because of the snow, we had to rearrange several of the hikes to lower elevations.  I’ve got the pictures I took of the retreat and the hike I led below.  There are also pictures linked from the Bethany Wilderness Ministry website.  Enjoy!

New subsite

I have created this subsite, accessible either via david.acosi.com or www.acosi.com/david to make it easier for me to publish things to share.  The site is using the wordpress application, which I have generally found to have the features I want.  Postings are sorted by date, so check back for new posts when you have the time.

I am not yet happy with the look and feel of the site.  So, if it changes over the next few weeks, it is just me playing around.
